Through the lens of my artistry, I reflect the intricate dance of nature and industry, where the curl of a Ghost Orchid's petal (Dendrophylax lindenii) and the flight of the sphinx moth (Manduca sexta) meet the cold resilience of expanded metal. My craft, rooted in the environmental tapestry of the Midwest's tall grass prairies and now infused with the tropical vibrancy of Georgia, transforms industrial materials into a celebration of the natural world. Delicate forms like the American tree frog (Hyla cinerea) emerge from the monochrome of powder-coated metal, highlighted by the subtlety of drybrush strokes, embodying the strength and interconnectedness of life's web.

In my sculptures, the commitment to sustainability and the artistry of adaptation converge, offering a silent homage to both the overt and the overlooked in nature. They narrate the journey from simplicity to complexity, mirroring life's delicate balance, with the stoicism of the metal juxtaposed against the resilience of the flora and fauna that inspire my work. Each creation is a single sheet's metamorphosis—a testimony to the transformation and continuity of existence, where nothing is removed or added, preserving the integrity of both medium and message.

Driven by the transformative promise inherent in each sheet of metal, my work seeks to stir the soul, igniting wonder and provoking contemplation. It stands as a testament to the profound creativity of the human spirit, urging a deep appreciation for the myriad ways in which life exhibits its beauty and resilience. My sculptures are not only guardians of the fragile dance between existence and extinction but also symbols of hope, reminding us of the essential balance we must uphold with the natural world around us.
